 Virginia Prime Gold is our premier oil that has many applications in the industrial field. Virginia Prime Gold is pure fish oil that has been fractionated, where the solid stearine fraction has been crystallized and filtered out. We accomplish this by chilling the oil, causing the saturated stearine fraction of the oil to crystallize. These crystals are then filtered out producing a free flowing oil that contains less saturated fats and more polyunsaturated fats than our basic Virginia Prime Bronze. The oil is then refined to reduce the free fatty acid content, improving its profile. Finally, the oil is bleached using clay to reduce color, odor and many oxidative precursors. The final product is light in color with a mild odor - holding greater oxidative stability than Virginia Prime Silver or basic crude oil.
